Had the 3 course Xmas meal here last night, food was absolutely delicious and will 100000% be visiting again. Lovely atmosphere and the pub itself is really lovely and cosy. The staff were great, service was quick and food was fantastic. See you again soon for another lovely meal!

Absolutely amazing in all ways and can't wait to come back. Update: Came back four months later and all is still well... apart from one grumpy waitress and a lack of non dairy milk options for the coffees, (really should be offering at least one milk substitute these days, I think). Otherwise, I would still recommend the Islwyn Inn for it's good, wholesome food, homely surroundings and, (mostly), warm and friendly staff. The beetroot wellington is a winner again, and the mushroom hot pot was very nice too. They ran out of cheesecakes so a few of us didn't have dessert (other options were available), but those who did said they were nice. One of our group doesn't eat peas, so the vegetable options were a little disappointing as it left only carrots (excluding potatoes), but the price, at 26 for 3 courses is reasonable. We would come back again but will bring some milk for the coffees with us next time

Booked in for Sunday lunch, book well in advance if you want to get in. A beautiful local clean and well run pub. Just a shame it’s not open all week. The food was outstanding. Can’t praise the food enough everything is just done so well. A local legend.

Visited the Islwyn Inn with a family group on a Friday evening. What a lovely evening. Food and service was 1st class. The menu albeit relatively limited could not be faulted. Our meals were served piping hot and the general service was excellent. Will definitely be visiting again in the near future.
